It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about this, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more companies — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, betting online would be far more enjoyable…and much less stressful.
I would wager that BetOnline wishes they did. They have made decisions a couple of years ago that’s probably cost them thousandsof thousands, possibly even millions of dollars, due to lost business from poor PR.
We are going to be sharing some examples of these with you in our review. Because while we wholeheartedly recommend BetOnline to our visitors — and believe that now they’re a safe and legit gaming company — we believe you have a right to know the entire story before opting to play here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?
2019 MAIN REVIEW
CASINO & SKILL GAMES
First Things First: What Can BetOnline Do Exactly?
What exactly did BetOnline do to make so many people mad?
We think that a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor decisions crosses the spectrum of shady behavior, ranging from telling enjoys to withholding cash to getting poor security.
There are plenty of examples we can show you. But LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the job for us. They uncovered several instances, which you can see for yourself on their BetOnline review.
Here is our TL;DR version:
BetOnline Told a Fib
When BetOnline first introduced their poker product, they lied about what system it was around. They first claimed to be about the Hero Poker Network, even though they were really on the Action Poker Network. There were stories about how they had been about the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked away.
Afterwards reports (from BetOnline) suggested that things were nice and mended, which BetOnline had been (and still is) on the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to like about, eh? (Although we might lie also if we were on a shoddy network like Action.)
Everybody agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a bad approach to market a new item. It doesn’t exude confidence. And it makes you wonderwhy would they lie about something so trivial in the first location?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money out of customers. The reasoning was almost always because the customer supposedly cheated, even though no evidence was ever provided from BetOnline (in the cases we’ve read).
One example that caught our eye was of a pro who had $60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline stated he cheated. They refused to send him all his palms, but did offer to send him the hand histories that revealed him jobless (for proof).
He never got them though. What he did get was vacant promises about how they were on the road, and also the runaround when they showed up. They eventually told him they could not send him the hand histories because the documents were too large.
(Anyone who knows anything regarding online poker and hands histories — let alone about downloading files to your own computer — knows what a crock this is. And, why would not you send evidence someone cheated if you have nothing to hide?)
Finally Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the player get his cash back. His last update mentions being relieved about how it worked out for himbut also stated the same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Owe BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the player didn’t anything wrong — he chip-dumped to his friend. But here is the kicker:
He also chip-dumped to his friend at a HEADS UP table where no one else could be hurt. He did it so his buddy could have an additional $50 to play with at BetOnline.
The humorous part is that they were playing from precisely the exact same house at the moment. Most sites wouldn’t even let two individuals from the exact same IP address sit down at the exact same table but BetOnline did.
The person had his account suspended (far after the fact, whereas most websites would’ve captured it much sooner), which no disputes or thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What’s though, is how they wanted to also take his 37,000 he earned because that episode.
Forum members indicated that many legit sites would never have allowed two people from the exact same IP to sit in the same table. And, if they did, as soon as they guessed chip dumping had occurred, the participant’s account would come under review. He’d not have the chance to earn the $37,000.
However, now that he did, BetOnline wanted it. But, technically, the cash should go to whomever was hurt by this participant’s activities (which was no one). So it is absurd BetOnline thinks they should have the ability to keep it.
BetOnline Knows Your Own Passwords
The previous example we want to talk about is a case where a BetOnline rep outed the way the employees knew their customer’s passwords and login numbers. You can see the live chat log here.
The first poster has a good point. If everybody in the company has access to your login information, what is stopping them from conducting a VPN, logging into account and taking your money?
The BetOnline rep didn’t have a fantastic answer, only a”ha ha ok sir.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the forum thread and you’ll see even more examples. It is ridiculous.
What’s even more ridiculous is how these instances are a drop in the bucket in comparison with the sheer variety of (similar) complaints against them. A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will keep you occupied.
Subsequently BetOnline Does One Funny: They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During the same time BetOnline was fighting, SportsBetting.ag was unable to. They were struggling to pay their clients.
Thent a few months later a story broke — BetOnline obtained SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part wasn’t so much the purchase, it was the fact that BetOnline also agreed to be on the hook for all of the current and previous payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most importantly, the new investment group is committed for SportsBetting.ag winners paid in a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee past and future payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep stated. “But as there’s a large backlog of pending payouts, they have to be conducted through various fraud checks, fulfilled and guaranteed. When the backlog is finished, clients will experience radically enhanced payouts thanks in part to upgraded payment options, such as same day options.”
No one knows precisely how much BetOnline needed to make in past payments. In reality, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” for more than $1.5 million in obligations that wasn’t reported by the prior direction. I think it’d be safe to presume that the previous debts exceeded $1.5 million — and seemingly BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Frankly, we’ve had difficulty finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from within the past year or so.
There are some complaints; ordinary stuff all companies face that we’ll address later on in our review once it makes sense. Nonetheless, it appears to us like the majority of BetOnline’s problems are over.
They have satisfied customers, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what does this mean for you? In the event you forget and forgive? Are they secure enough for you to join, make a deposit and play? We’ll be honest — there is no way we would have played BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we’d known or heard about any of those reports previously. No one in their right mind could. You’d be safer light your money on fire.
And we don’t want to downplay the errors they’ve made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure software isn’t to be taken lightly.
However, since buying SportsBetting.ag and incorporating new management to oversee operations, things have improved drastically. So much so we’re comfortable today recommending them to our readers.
And it is not just us. If you have a look at other BetOnline reviews, then you’ll see similar thought processes. Typically the reviewers first condemned them for their activities (in 2011-2012) and recommended NOT playing with there, simply to get a change of heart once they saw just how much BetOnline altered.
So, here’s where we stand on the matter —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from a perfect sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their shortcomings, the most recent of which we emphasize in our review below.
But, as best as we could tell, they have righted their wrongs and continue to improve on what they currently offer to players. So we feel secure using accounts here.
It is up to you to decide if you feel the same way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
Together with their past from the way, let us jump into what’s important today — and that’s what BetOnline offers in terms of banking, gambling options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline offers a good choice of banking options. But you will want to keep in mind that what’s available to you will probably be determined by where you live.
Let’s start with their deposit options.
Here are the payment methods BetOnline takes and the min/max limits for each:
Visa (Person to Person)
Person to Person
$50/$900 — BetOnline covers some fees over $300. Money Orders
$10/no Maximum Neteller
$10/no max Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/no max Bank Wire
$1,000/no max Check
Check $1,500/$24,900 Diner’s Club
The largest complaint about deposits would be their 6% fees for debit and credit cards. They’re one of the only sites which charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among those other ones, charging 4.9 percent.
When you’re ready to cash out your winnings, then you can use:
Person to Person
$50/$500 — Can take 12-36 hours. Prices will run $26-$101. Bank Wire
$500/$24,900 — Can take around 10 days. Fees will run $45-$75. ATM
ATM Only Card
$100/$2,500. Check By Mail
Check by Mail, Courier or Express
$500/$2,500 — Depending on which option you pick, this can require 7-30 days and will cost you $25-$50 NOT INCLUDING the fees that your bank may charge. Bitcoin
$20/$5,000 — Will charge you 2% (of the total). Skrill
$25/$9,900 — Takes around 36 hours. Only 3 requests allowed a week. Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/$15,000 — Transfers are completed within one day. Neteller
$25/$9,900 — Takes around 36 hours and will cost you $20. Only 3 payouts allowed per week.
What I don’t like is how you are going to pay a fee for every single banking choice. Even bitcoin, which is typically free at most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to pay a 2% commission.
That said, I’ve seen firsthand reports from customers who say they have received payments over 10 days, bank transfers over 3 days and bank wires in 2-3 days. This is fast considering they are in the US market.
BetOnline says nothing about it in their site, but I have seen reports which indicate BetOnline gives you a $50 charge monthly if you place in your request on a Friday. Oftentimes this will not cover the whole fee, but it’s better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Would You Bet On Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” business. This means that you can bet on sports, play casino and poker games.
Their longest reputation, and likely most popular product, is that their sportsbook. So let us start there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on horses, sports and finances.
In their sportsbook they more or less cover the most popular sports in america. Included in these are:
You can also wager on futures and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Soccer Cycling
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Soccer One option they have added lately is eSports. It’s no surprise really, given how quickly that business is growing. Every bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on all the greatest leagues and tournaments.
BetOnline is, also, even though it looks like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — that they only have moneyline odds for a single match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who is covering 5+ games around about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It is a large difference. I mean, who’d you rather go to for eSports betting?
That having been said, I think it’s a fantastic idea to give BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they are still attempting to find their bearings in this developing marketplace. Maybe they have plans to expand their eSports options in the not too distant future.
What they do have going for them is their chances on the match-up I am comparing to Bovada. They are offering slightly better pricing for the exact same exact match.
There’s no way to tell if that’s going to be the case, nor can it matter whether they never enlarge this section of their sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep your eye on these.
They provide live gambling also. These options change continuously, obviously, to coincide with what games or events are going on. When I last looked they had lines for football, tennis and baseball. You can also keep track of a couple of games concurrently using their multi-event tab and plan for future games using their live betting calendar.
One thing they’re known for are the higher-than-average betting limitations. These vary from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will max out at between $1,000 to $3,000. But it just depends. You can also raise your wagering amounts by contacting their Player Services.
Their sportsbook additionally runs a fair number of promotions, and far more than you will find in their racebook and financials section combined. Some of the better choices include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your first deposit up to $2,500.50percent Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is less or more insurance — make a wager and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you up to $25.
Beyond that you will see a listing of races in their page. Each record tells you the number of open races there are, which when you click it is going to expand to show you the races, horses, jockeys and odds.
If you’re unfamiliar with their website or horse betting, a good section to look through is their racebook information tab in their own navigation. Here you’ll find advice on:
Their monitor limitations. This lets you know that the max you can bet per race.Payoff chances. Discover how much you will make in case your bet(s) win.Their principles and the types of bets you may make.Horse betting tips, FAQs and terms (in case you don’t know what a word or phrase means).
It is a fantastic section if you’re new to horse betting.
And that’s about it. This section is far more compact than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a couple offers too, though nowhere near the quality or volume their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of these offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7 percent rebate on your stakes daily with no min quantity or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Make a wager for the first time in the racebook. In the event you lose BetOnline will reimburse you around $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here you can wager on currencies, indices and commodities. Your gambling options include touch, range, turbo and one touch. The assets/markets you can wager on will depend on your bet type.
This segment looks to be an afterthought. It certainly doesn’t get the attention or marketing BetOnline’s other sections do.
Their poker room is one of the most popular alternatives for Americans. They are part of the Chico Poker Network, who is 13th in total traffic positions, but is 3rd for US poker sites. After I last checked they had around 2,100 players on their website.
In 2016 BetOnline performed a much-needed software update. In the past they had many complaints regarding the standard of their software. This included complaints about fuzzy graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But following their update we’ve seen suggestions that they might have a few of the best applications in america market.
From worst to best in one upgrade? That might be pushing it. But in line with the images I’ve seen, their software DOES look better.
However, there are still a few areas BetOnline can enhance.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. But they don’t have any choices for mobile players, which we believe is a no-brainer in this era. They also only offer holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be wonderful to see more game choices.
Overall, though, it’s nice to see they are making improvements and are becoming more aggressive with what other high tier US poker sites provide.
Speaking of which, a Number of their poker offers or promotions include:
Welcome Bonus — They will match your deposit 100% up to a max of $2,500. They cover out this to you $5 at a time. You’ll have 60 days to clean the offer. $50,000 GTD — They are running a $50,000 warranty for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline promises greater than $90,000 in championship prize pools each and every weekend.
They have a couple of leaderboard and cash race challenges, also.
Plus it is not exactly a”bonus,” but the games here should be softer due to the US traffic and also the crossover traffic from their sportsbook or casino. Making money from their poker tables ought to be simpler here in contrast to other poker (just ) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you’ll find lots of game choices ranging from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their games come from the Rival Gaming and BetSoft software, each of which are famous for producing topnotch games. Here is how their matches breakdown:

If you run into a Issue or have a query, you can reach out to BetOnline using one of the following options:
LIVE CHAT (for real money accounts only)
One thing to find here are the accounts I’ve seen about the way BetOnline’s service is unfriendly.
One example came out of a poker player turned website reviewer. He shared his expertise, which was among the worst I’ve heard ever, let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt from Gambling the Odds:
Since BetOnline’s poker software is not high quality, I anticipated them to excel at client service. How else could you explain the popularity of the poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In fact, during their live chat service (and that I just have to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my life so far.
After the live chat session began, I had to wait for a couple of minutes until the customer support person bothered to answer, not only entirely ignoring my question but asking for my username and password too. Can you feel comfortable entering your password and username into some live chat box? I sure didn’t.
I explained that I do not want to input that information to a chat room and, what’s more, the query requires no such advice since it was about BetOnline.ag in general. I had to wait for ten more minutes for”assistance” (I use that word loosely ), while receiving”Thanks for waiting. I will be with you in only a minute…” every now and then.
Nevertheless, I have also heard that the opposite. A reviewer who plays on BetOnline says they provide excellent customer service. He also says that your very best choice is to benefit from the live chat (only available to account holders).
Their adventures are polar opposites. This implies to us that BetOnline may have inconsistencies with how they manage customer care…an
