Glover Texieria replaces Shogun against Rashad Evans at UFC Fight Night Tampa Damon Martin of FOX Sports reported on Wednesday that an injury has forced Mauricio”Shogun” Rua off UFC Fight Night Tampa.

Fellow Brazillian Glover Teixeira has be tabbed as the substitute for face Rashad Evans. Teixeira (24-4) is coming off back to back victories over Ovince St-Preux and Patrick Cummins. The 36-year old was supposed to fight Evans in UFC Fight Night 61 in February 2015, but he pulled from the struggle due to a knee injury. Evans (19-4-1) returned into the octagon after two-year layoff and was on the wrong end of a conclusion against Ryan Bader at UFC 192. Additionally according to Combate, welterweights Omari Akhmedov and Elizeu Zaleski would be the most recent addition to the event. Akhmedov (15-3) heads to this matchup off a knockout loss to Sergio Moraes in December. The setback snapped his two-fight win streak. Zaleski (14-5) is coming off a split decision loss to Nicolas Dalby via split decision last May. UFC Fight Night Tampa occurs April 16th in the Amalie Arena. Here is an updated look at the card.
